Malibu Zanmi Event

January 2016

Thanks again to Malibu High School students who helped us organize the event with signs, food and drinks and a huge thank you to all who came  and support our Haitian Zanmi Project fundraising event!

And a huge thank you to all of you who purchased the women’s Zanmis and hand made baskets. Your generous contributions made it possible for us to raise over $1,600 to help fund the  building water tight roofs for all the ladies in our project.

People spent a total of $1,612 on Haitian dolls and baskets. Given that our costs were something like $100 we have now about $1,500 to support our Haitian friends.

Tujunga Event

January 2016

Natalie and I went to the YMCA in Tujunga (Los Angeles) to talk about our Zanmi Project. We had some 25 people in the audience listening to Natalie talking about what we do. It was just a small informal event where Natalie’s slide presentation was tested for the first time with a live audience.

The slide presentation is actually pretty good -some 60+ slides. So far so good.  But it is over 600 MB in size. I have to figure out how to slim it down to a size we can put on this website. Oh well.

We ended up selling something like 20 baskets and a few dolls -financially not a big deal. The audience was quite enthusiastic and we expect to get more invitations to more church and other events.

Zanmi at the FAME Church

February 2011

We supported the Haiti Clean Water Project by selling Zamnis (made by Haitian women in Haiti) at the FAME Church, 2270 South Harvard Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90018 from 3pm to 5pm.
